About Michael Dolan
At age 31 with his wife and two children, Michael began his transition from the military to civilian life. It didn’t take long to realize that he hadn’t properly prepared for civilian employment. While highly trained, his military qualifications didn’t transfer to civilian requirements. Michael felt the financial pressure and circumstances getting out of control. In his heart, he believed there was a God, but Michael had questions that needed answering. He chose to meet with a friend’s Pastor. Pastor Webb filled in some of the blanks and took Michael through the scriptures containing the Gospel message. God’s word was simple and clear to Michael, God’s way or the world’s way. Having tried the world’s way Michael chose to try God’s way and became a Christian that day. Unknowing to Michael this new path would develop in him a passion for eschatology and prophetic research.
Turning Point Radio Ministry hosted by Dr. David Jeremiah with its verse-by-verse study of the Books of Daniel and Revelation opened Michael’s mind to expositional-style bible study. Dr. Jeremiah’s related books, The Handwriting on the Wall and Escape the Coming Night helped hone his method of study to always include knowing the origin of the text, where its context is rooted. Michael simply duplicated the research habits of Bible teachers like Dr. Jeremiah and others: habits of reading commentaries, using concordances to determine the hermeneutic meaning of words and cross-referencing extra-biblical text for historical context; extra-biblical texts such as the Book of Enoch I, the Book of Jasher and the Book of Jubilee. In his later years Michael saw the truth of Proverb 14:23, In all labor, there is profit…, in the case of research, the deeper you study, the stronger your biblical worldview.
Continued research led Michael to other favorite teachers such as Theologian Dr. J. Vernon McGee by way of his Through the Bible in Five Years radio ministry and the late Dr. Charles (Chuck) Missler with his video series on each book of the bible. Dr. Missler founded the Koinonia House Ministry and its video teaching series continues to provide Michael a wealth of information to draw from. Michael learned that harmony between science and God’s word can and does exist.
Recalling his mission trip to Baltimore MD in 2005 for a church startup campaign, and conducting a few welcome visitations with church newcomers, Michael experienced some of the tough questions people have about God. Those experiences taught Michael the value of having a basic understanding of Christian Apologetics. Being an avid reader Michael found Christian Apologists Dave Hunt, and Dr. Ravi Zacharias to be two of his favorites. There are several Historians that Michael has found reliable and helpful in tying historical events to Bible prophecy, Historians Will Durant, Edmond Paris, and Peter DeRosa, just to name a few.
Around age 44, he was given the opportunity to be part of a class facilitating team for his church’s Divorce Care Ministry Program and for 9 years used this forum to help others by sharing his knowledge of God’s truth. Through that ministry, Michael realized his desire to teach and share the knowledge he had acquired. A few years later he would have the opportunity to teach again through the writing of Doctrines of Deception. Michael wrote Doctrines of Deception in a didactic style to help inform and to fulfill his calling of being a watchman on the wall.
His early retirement in 2018 offered Michael the chance to accept the challenge of publishing some of his findings. Michael was prompted by his son’s friend with the question, “now that you are retired have you ever thought about writing a book?” Here was his opportunity to share God’s word and historical events that are relevant to the times we live in. He believes there is a significant need within the body of Christ to revisit or for some a first look at the prophetic warnings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Warnings that advise us to not just accept any religious teaching that is claimed to be from God’s word, but to search the scriptures to see if, in fact, the doctrine is true. This process led Michael to sound the alarm about doctrines that are widely accepted, but upon deeper study and research appear to be false!
Michael was raised in Buffalo, New York. He is a United States Air Force veteran and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University. Michael has two children, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He currently resides in South Carolina.
